Gertie F. Marx, M.D. has been called
"the mother of obstetric anesthesia".
She is well known all over the world, especially for her exceptional teaching skills.

In a clinical and academic career spanning more than five decades, Dr. Marx has devoted her life to improving the care of mothers and their babies during child birth.
